Don’t want to tempt fate or anything, but there’s this rumour doing the rounds that if England beat Australia in the 20/20 World Cup on Friday, the Aussies will be out of the tournament. I can’t make up my mind if I want that to happen though (it might be more fun to beat them in the final, no? Well, I can dream, can’t I..?)

I think we’ve got a reasonable chance of beating them, but I’m feeling a little negative and suspect that Flintoff’s batting (if we continue the ego massaging of batting him too high at six) and the bowling of Schofield and Mascarenhas will land us in trouble. The bowling of the last two won the game against Zimbabwe but I imagine that better Australian footwork may tear them apart.
I’ll also be interested to see if Hogg plays for Australia this time as he could be a major problem for us.
